Recent Department for Education figures have shown that Ark Kings Academy in Birmingham is the most-improved academy in two years in the UK.

Their GCSE results have increased by 27 percentage points, while the average for all schools has decreased by six.

Principal Roger Punton has said: “We have a rigorous focus on standards and high expectations for all pupils at Ark Kings Academy.  As these results show, we are making rapid progress but there is much more to do and we are working hard to ensure that our results continue to climb year on year.  We have also just started work on our new school building signalling a very bright future for Ark Kings Academy.”

Meanwhile, King Solomon Academy has been rated as the best non-selective school in the country, according to secondary school league tables. The school is located in the most economically deprived ward in London, signalling the result of years of hard work to give students the best opportunities possible.
