In national recognition of its exceptional academic performance in 2016, Sutton Community Academy in Ashfield has received an Educational Outcomes Award from SSAT (the Schools, Students and Teachers network).
Educational Outcomes data analysis from SSAT shows that the academy is in the top 20% of schools nationally for progress at the end of Key Stage 4. In 2016, Sutton Community Academy achieved a progress 8 score of +0.31, which is above the national average.
The team at Sutton Community Academy, part of Academy Transformation Trust, will receive their award during a regional celebration event with SSAT, which aims to draw attention to the work of high-achieving, improving and innovating schools and teachers. Sutton Community Academy will share their experience in achieving exceptional results with other schools through the network to improve education for all children.
Sutton Community Academy also gained its first ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, with Outstanding elements, in November 2016. Leadership which has “embedded an ethos of high aspiration, hard work and sharply focused improvement” and pupil welfare where pupils “develop in to confident, articulate and enthusiastic young people, who aspire to achieve the very best they can” were deemed Outstanding in the report.
