Students and staff from the TBAP Multi-Academy trust including the Octagon AP Academy in Haringey, Bridge AP Academy in Fulham and Latimer AP Academy in Kensington and Chelsea, have raised funds to help the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal by taking part in sporting activities in London’s Olympic park in Stratford.

The sporting activities included cycling around the Olympic Park’s road circuit, swimming in the Aquatic Centre, badminton in the Copper Box and walking.

Angela Tempany, Head of School, Octagon AP Academy and leader of the day’s activities, said: “When our learners and staff heard about the earthquake in Nepal they didn't hesitate to offer their help to raise money for the appeal. Not only did we raise money for a very worthy cause, we also had an enjoyable and memorable experience.”

Laurence Ferrigan, learning support professional, Octagon AP Academy said: “Whether it was cycling laps of the road track, swimming laps of the Olympic pool or participating in other sporting activities, our learners gave their all. They can all take pride in their contribution and the support they have given to the appeal.”

Seamus Oates, Executive Headteacher for TBAP, said: “I am proud of our learners and staff for helping to raise funds to help people in Nepal recovering from the devastating earthquake earlier this year.”
