Best-selling author and educator, Professor Gervase Phinn, helped to celebrate the talent of teachers across the UK as he hosted Academy Transformation Trust’s first ever national awards.

Nineteen teachers from across the country were recognised at The Trust’s much-anticipated Teaching Awards 2016, held on 22 June.

Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) is a not for profit trust working with primary and secondary academies and further education providers in the Midlands, East of England and South East.

Hosted by Professor Gervase Phinn, the ceremony brought together governors, teachers and pupils from The Trust’s 20 academies to recognise and celebrate the teachers’ achievements.

Nominated by principals, governors and pupils from both primary and secondary academies, teachers were awarded across 19 categories, including excellence in arts and creativity, international and languages, English, sport, pupil welfare, and innovation in learning and teaching.

Professor Gervase Phinn added: “It has been an honour to host the Teaching Awards and award those teachers who have shown such commitment to pupils’ education and learning.”

Joyce Hodgetts, Managing Director of Academy Transformation Trust, said: “At ATT, it’s important that we honour our teachers for their dedication to our pupils. Congratulations to every single teacher that won an award and to those that were shortlisted - we are very proud of their outstanding contributions to our academies.”
