Lsect, publishers of education titles Schools Week and FE Week, will present the award for Headteacher of the Year.

Shane Mann, managing director at Lsect, said: 'Outstanding teaching and learning in our schools and colleges often goes on ‘under the radar'; the Cornwall Teacher Awards is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the extremely valuable work that goes on in classrooms across the county, we're delighted to be a part of this event.'

Other early sponsors include West Briton, Truro and Penwith College, and Kernow Education.

Fiona Shaw, Publisher at the West Briton, said: 'The talent and dedication of individuals working in our schools and colleges often goes on without additional reward or recognition; the Cornwall Teacher Awards is an opportunity to give thanks and celebrate the extraordinary work that goes on in Cornish schools, colleges and academies.'

Nikki Baron, Business Development Director at Empra Ltd, the Awards' organisers said; 'Early partners and sponsors supporting this event is incredibly important to its success. This is the first Awards of its kind in Cornwall and we want as many people as possible to know about it.'
