Give and Gain Day is the UK’s only national day of employee volunteering. Now in its seventh year, thousands of people from hundreds of companies took part in volunteering activities on 20 May and throughout the week commencing 16 May.

Bristol Metropolitan Academy benefited from mentoring sessions with DAC Beachcroft, where fourteen colleagues worked with fourteen year 11 students - the fifth session in this programme so far. The mentoring sessions focused on revision techniques and aspirations.

It was also the start of a 'Lawyers in Schools' initiative, which involves six colleagues from DAC Beachcroft working with Bristol Met’s year 10 students.

Tim Holmes, Advice and Guidance Leader at the academy, said: “We would like to thank staff from DAC Beachcroft for taking time out of their busy schedules to come and work with our students, the positive impact it is having on our students is immeasurable. Helping our students make informed decisions about their next steps is something we take very seriously here at Bristol Met and this project is one of many academy initiatives of this type.”
