Educational provisions are taking shape in the new Cambridgeshire town of Northstowe.
Northstowe Secondary College will be a cornerstone of the new Northstowe Learning Community which, in time, will comprise a primary school, a special educational needs school and a 6th form college. The school will feature state-of-the-art facilities for sciences, drama, cooking and hospitality, arts, sports and leisure, and also be available for the wider community to use outside of school hours.
Northstowe Secondary College will be part of Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) and a sister school to Swavesey Village College. The leadership team and staff at Swavesey are spearheading development of the new school and will be responsible for implementing an innovative and tailored approach to teaching and learning, based on their own success and experience.
Plans for the new school will be showcased at an open evening, from 6pm on Wednesday 3rd October, at Pathfinder Primary School, Northstowe. Parents and families from Northstowe and Longstanton are invited to attend, as are members of the wider community who wish to find out more.
