'Vibrant and inclusive' college launches in Burslem

Haywood Sixth Form Academy has unveiled its new identity as City College

Posted by Julian Owen | March 25, 2018 | School life

Haywood Sixth Form Academy has been rebranded as City College in a bid to “create a more inclusive and accessible college which is available to students from across the city of Stoke-on-Trent, South Cheshire and North Staffordshire”.

Paula Fergusson, Head of the College, commented: “We are excited to announce our new identity. We want to position ourselves as the college of the city that offers outstanding education for all students with all needs.

“Unfortunately, many people had the perception that we were purely an extension of Haywood Academy, and many prospective students were not aware that they were welcome here. This rebrand will hopefully bring students from around the city into our College, where they can choose from the full range of A-level and BTEC courses, Employability and Life Skills courses, as well as our incredibly successful work-related and Pre-Apprenticeship Learning programmes.”

City College will be complementing the change with a new website, logo and accompanying literature that will be “vibrant, fun and colourful” and reinforced with the new strapline 'Be amongst the best, stand out from the rest'.
